Quick article on NFL.com. Apparently, knowing that the uncapped and renegotiated cap years were coming, Dallas and Washington dumped much of their high-paid players salaries into their 2010 uncapped year. The goal was to get those numbers off the books when there was no cap.
The Raiders and Saints did it to a little less extent.
The NFL has penalized the Cowboys and Redskins by making reductions to their 2012 and 2013 cap amounts and returning these adjustments to be spread over the remaining teams.
So that means we have more cap space! Bring Manning back! :-)
