Kuharsky: Caldwell's fate

Written by Todd Smith on .

Now that Grigson is aboard Paul Kuharsky asks if Jim Caldwell's time is up:

Grigson’s first decision is likely to be on Caldwell, and we could know today whether he wants to stick with the coach in place or make a change.

I’m not sure who out there for Grigson would qualify as “his guy.” Marty Mornhinweg has been on the Eagles' staff for nine seasons and had a two-year stint as the Lions' head coach in 2001-02. He’s the one easy guy to mention, but we have no idea what kind of relationship Grigson has with him or what he wants to see in a head coach.

Marty Mornhinweg? Really? I'll take Caldwell over Marty any day.

If Grigson goes for Mornhinweg then Jim Irsay made a bad bad hire for GM.

@The Walking Eye Something tells me he'd never elect to kick to start OT again :)

He would be a pretty bad hire in my eyes. It certainly would signal this is a rebuilding process however--he's meant to develop QBs.

Maybe it's just me, but if I was a new GM looking to make a splash and begin a successful career, the one guy I would NOT hire is Marty Mornhinweg. Not even as OC. Just from paying attention to FFB alone I noticed that the Eagles routinely abandoned the best part of their offense last year (McCoy) in favor of Vick's questionable passing game, even when Vick was injured. No thanks.
