Kelley: Colts Offseason, Summary and Important Dates

Written by Lou Pin on .

Not much to say, but Craig Kelley of colts.com does a good job of summarizing the Colts initial offseason outlook. An important note: in the next draft, Indy will be missing the second and fifth round (after trading for Vontae Davis with their second pick and sacrificing their fifth pick for Hilton; two intelligent moves, as it were). Pagano had a few things to say, as well.

"We have to raise the bar and expectations because we know now they’re going to be much higher because of the success we had this year, which is fine.  That’s why we got into this business.  That’s why we coach, and that’s why we play.  (It) is to put ourselves in these types of situations.  (It’s) to get ourselves a chance to reach our ultimate goal, which is to win a world championship and multiple world championships."

(with professional football leagues in all of two countries, I think using the term 'world champion' - while accurate - is like saying France is home to the greatest Eiffel Tower in the world. Yes, there's one in Vegas. There's also a football league in Canada ... and the winning QB this year was cut by the Jets in 2004, when they were starting Chad Pennington ahead of Brooks Bollinger and Quincy Carter)

The article also mentions the Colts schedule next year, an Arians update, and their free agent signings.
