Irsay denies interest in Caserio
Adam Schefter reported that the Colts were denied by Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio. Jim Irsay denies even interviewing him:
Adam S,not true about "1rst candidate we wanted 2hire.." There is not any candidate we "wanted to hire" I haven't interviewed
Caserio was never even interviewed... unless Irsay was lying about having 7 interviewees.
Not sure this is quite right. I think what Schefter tweeted was that Caserio was Irsay's first preference for the job, and that the Patriots moved quickly to convince Caserio to stay. Irsay was refuting that Caserios was his first preference, saying he couldn't know that without having the opportunity to talk to him.

@LovinBlue Irsay only asked to talk to him. He didn't offer him the job! HUGE DIFFERENCE! Schefler is a Patriots Loving DBag!
Schefter, whether intentionally or not, used the wrong words on his tweet and the tweet was misleading. Of course Caserio could have been a candidate for the job, but that doesn't imply that he was the first choice or even that Irsay would have offered him the job after interviewing him.
