You should be quite hesitant to believe any news regarding Peyton Manning until you hear it from the horse's mouth. Everyone has a friend who knows someone who heard that Peyton Manning was having dinner with Rob Lowe after working out with Marvin Harrison in Tom Moore's backyard with Tom Landry and Santa Claus serving TastyKakes to the growing throng of imaginary friends all seeking an autograph.

As Tony Dungy would say, "Don't fall for the ol' rope-a-dope!"

So I give you Bob Allen of KTRK in Houston who casts a line with no bait:

Someone I know who is close friends with the Manning family says Peyton is definitely interested in possibly coming to the Texans. Peyton will be released by the Colts early next month and will be a free agent. The person who knows the Mannings says Peyton wants to play on a team that has a chance of going to a Super Bowl, and the Texans fit that description.

I'm not saying it won't happen folks but you might as well have gotten the news from my neighbor Jim who once lived in Georgia and loves the Bulldogs who play Tennessee once a year and therefore has an in with Peyton Manning's people as well.

Peyton Manning is "definitely interested" in any team that will sign him. He wants to play in the NFL next year. There are 32 teams on his "definite interest" list. I'm sure there are teams he'd be more interested in playing for, but if the only team to call him is St. Louis, then he'll be "definitely interested" in playing for the Rams.

Hate to admit it, Houston is the only AFC South team I wouldnt have a problem Peyton going to.

Agreed. However I do have a friend that baby sits. One of the babies that she baby sits goes to daycare with Manning's babies. Apparently this baby sitter has deciphered the goos and gaas of babyhood and tells me that the kid baby that she baby-sits told her that Manning's babies were arguing about it the other day in day care. One says he is a lock for going to GB and sitting behind and learning from Rodgers until Rodgers retires. The other says he is definitely going to the Chicago Blackhawks.
