Draft grades (which are still meaningless)
Written by Todd Smith on .
The Indianapolis Star has compiled a list of draft grades for Ryan Grigson's tight end bonanza.
I'd say something snarky here but it's draft grades--a joke and punchline all in one.
So this is why we drafted Mr. Irrelevant:
Florio links to a YouTube video on which Colts draft choice Chandler Harnish talks about having had a deal in place with San Diego to sign as a free agent before the draft was over. That's against NFL rules. Then the Colts took Harnish, a quarterback from Northern Illinois (and Bluffton, Ind.), with the final pick of the draft. In the video, Harnish says, "There were still 13 picks to go. And (San Diego) put the deal on the table that they wanted me to be a free agent and I had to say ‘yes’ to it. ... We tell San Diego we want that deal. Well, my agent tells the Colts, 'Hey, he’s going to San Diego if you don’t draft him with your last pick.' So because of that the Colts were like, 'We want him.'"
