Can the Colts recover?

Written by Todd Smith.

Pro Football Weekly has an unnamed source who says the Colts and Jim Caldwell can rebound after this horrible season:

"Indianapolis should have a young quarterback for the next 10 years (after the draft). Peyton Manning is coming back. If you have an elite quarterback, you have a chance every year. They have some issues on the offensive line they still need to fix, but they have a lot of offensive skill talent in place already. Jim Caldwell has done a good job with the offense. I don't think you can blame him for the problems they encountered this year. People forget — he was 14-2 his first year. Did he suddenly become a bad coach overnight?"

I'm willing to wait a couple of years for the team to rebuild. The roster is horrible.

Not overnight, but the 4th and 2 game ruined him.

I don't have any interest in seeing Caldwell try to turn it around.

I don't think he uses his personnel right, and it seems like he hired a bad staff. If the Colts would fire the Polians and keep Caldwell I would have big doubts about the direction of the team. Like Chargers fans would feel if they were stupid enough to kept Norv Turner.

Why would they clean house and keep the coach anyway? I would like to see Mike Zimmer personally.

(I know they Chargers kept Turner)

@18to88 Bad coach overnight? No. He was never a good coach to begin with.
