Brandt: 2 QBs = more than $50M
Written by Todd Smith on .
Regarding Colts 2012 $: Manning option (28M) + salary (7.4M) = 35.4M.Luck bonus plus salary = approx 15.1M. Total = 50.5M

It should be noted this refers to the check Mr. Irsay would write, not the cap implications. While other outlets are erroneously reporting this number is "too expensive" for the Colts, reality suggests that the cap is often more of a limiting factor than cash and both QBs could in fact fit under the cap.
@18to88 you think 2 QBs could fit under cap? How can any money be spent on the rest of team? Will 1 play D or ST? Lots of questions.
@rdenton411 It's not the 2012 cap that's the problem. No way to keep Manning w/o a cap bomb going off in future.
@buymymonkey His injury is super serious, no need for him to come back with the chances that he is seriously hurt, that is all
@Platinum@bloomington@buymymonkey lol, I don't even think I need to answer that, but yeah they probably are just like the ones before it. Nerve still hasn't grown back, the original recovery time was supposed to be like 6-8 weeks...
@paulcareyjr@bloomington@buymymonkey Are you saying all the reports at the end of last season about him coming along brilliantly were hogwash?
@bloomington@buymymonkey From what I have heard it is not the just this surgery but the previous ones as well that increase his chances of permanent injury, that is the thing I am worried about.
@paulcareyjr@buymymonkey Cervical fusion doesn't create a prohibitive risk in and of itself. There are many NFL players playing who've recovered from the same surgery. The only real question is whether his arm will be strong enough to throw. His neck will be fine.
@paulcareyjr You're right. I was half joking. I've been trying lately not to post sarcastic stuff - so sorry about that.
