Bill Belichick knows that although the Patriots are the home team next weekend they're hardly the hometown favorite. At today's presser he decided to make the locals smile a bit by poking fun at his decision to go for it on 4th and 2 in the 2009:
“I never had too much hospitality here until I went for it on fourth-and-2,” Belichick said. “Since then I’ve been greeted in a lot more friendly manner than I was in the past.”
Belichick smiled, joked around and generally seemed chipper at his press conference on Sunday evening. Getting to the Super Bowl has him in a good mood.
Thanks to Jacob Burch for the correction!
I hate the 4th-and-2 game. I love dit at the time, but in hindsight I'm convinced it ruined Caldwell.
the AP article on it (http://news.yahoo.com/belichick-brady-cheerful-mood-arrival-000453863--spt.html) is wrong as well--it was a game winning TD, not FG.
@Jacob Burch You are correct...My mistake! Thanks
