PFT's Mike Florio reports that Manning will undergo surgery as early as today and will miss significant time. Florio indicates that it is currently expected that Manning will return sometime this season following the surgery. Colts fans who have been following the story reported earlier today that 4-time MVP quarterback Peyton Manning has undergone surgery and will be out for the season may be able to let out a sigh of relief. Injury expert Will Carroll who lives on the south side of Indianapolis and writes for Sports Illustrated -- and other places -- provides the following update.
Unless a very good source is flat out lying to me, Manning has not had a procedure since May. Not scheduled now. Possible, waiting on tests.Stick with Coltzilla and we will get to the bottom of this as soon as definitive information is made available. *UPDATE Sports Illustrated's Peter King also chimes in to confirm that Manning has not undergone recent surgery.
