#Colts' Manning: "To say I am disappointed in not being able to play is an understatement. The best part about football is being out there on the field playing with my teammates. It will be tough not to be out there playing for the organization and our fans. I simply am not healthy enough to play, and I am doing everything I can to get my health back. The team will do fine without me, and I know for sure that I will miss them much more than they will miss me."
With all due respect Peyton, the team will not do fine without you. There's a reason why you're the highest paid player in the league.
Manning will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, as the recovery from his neck injury is such that has no accurate timetable. Which means that we'll be on the edge of our seats every week waiting for some good news. Ugh. Although I already knew that this was the most likely scenario... I feel sick. Knowing that Manning's 208-game streak is coming to an end is like knowing my dog is going to be put down. But, like Stew Blake and Matt McCullough said, we will support the Colts through it. And maybe, just maybe, Manning will get healthy in time to raise this team up to it's full potential.
