BREAKING: Positive News on Manning's Injury

The Colts received word from Manning's doctor today which should encourage fans everywhere:

Peyton Manning's doctor said X-ray and CT examination of the surgical area shows fusion performed in September has achieved firm fixation.

From Manning: “I am encouraged with what Doc had to say. I am happy that I can increase my rehabilitation program as outlined by him." Dr. Robert Watkins, Manning's doctor, had this to say:

(Exams show) that the fusion performed in September has achieved firm fixation. Peyton will now be allowed to increase the intensity and breadth of his workouts as tolerated. There remains every indication his recovery will continue. There still is no timetable for Peyton to return to practice.

It's important to keep in mind that Manning's nerves still have to regenerate, but the indication is that things are pointing in a positive direction. Today is a happy day for Colts fans, the first one in a while.
