Love football? Love bragging rights?
Let's be honest: we all love those things. Now, we have even more ways to express that!
In addition to the numerous Colts Authority Fantasy Football leagues that we are running this year, Colts Authority is also running a Pigskin Pick 'em group through ESPN.com.
Anybody is free to join, and can do so by clicking here.
The group will be based on straight picks, mostly because I don't pay enough attention to the spread.
So, you think you know the NFL better than us? Prove it! (Let's be honest, you're probably not wrong, because people who read this blog are pretty smart, I hear).no comments
Real football draws closer and closer.
Less than a week from today, we'll already be talking about the Colts' dominating win over the Oakland Raiders. Andrew Luck will have thrown for over 600 yards, four touchdowns and a two-point conversion and Reggie Wayne will have slowly emasculated each of the Raiders' secondary members.
Lofty predictions aside, it's time to start getting excited about the regular season, specifically the Colts' season opener.
So if the Colts are to defeat the seemingly toothless Raiders, how will it happen? Which battles are crucial for the Colts to start the season 1-0?
The Colts have traded outside linebacker Caesar Rayford to the Dallas Cowboys for a conditional draft pick. Rayford played his way on to the roster and into the hearts of Colts fans with five sacks in the preseason (and a sixth that was called back on a penalty).
From the team’s announcement:
The Indianapolis Colts today traded linebacker Caesar Rayford to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a conditional draft pick.
Rayford was originally signed by the Colts as a free agent on May 23, 2013. In the 2013 preseason, he played in four games and totaled 11 tackles (seven solo), 5.0 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Earlier this morning, the Colts elected to release recently arrested safety John Boyett. A quick note to anyone who occasionally has a few too many: If you represent your employer in any way, you may be risking you job. Also, do not threaten police officers. They frown upon that. That bit of tongue in cheek business aside; this is certainly an unfortunate situation for both sides.
According to Tim Evans of the Indianapolis Star, aside from breaking out the now infamous “You can’t arrest me…I’m a Colts player,” Boyett also told an officer, “I am going to come back and break your jaw.”no comments
Hello, Colts fans. Over the holiday weekend, while we were grilling burgers, and watching parades and what not, the Colts made their second round of cuts followed by a small flurry of activity at the bottom of the roster, including yesterday’s trade and the signing of talented but troubled wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers to the practices squad.
Now, with the team beginning preparations for their September 8 season opener against the Oakland Raiders, we’re going start right off with injury updates. (more after the jump)no comments
When I woke up this morning, I saw the news about Da'Rick Rogers being added to the practice squad and thought that it was going to be the only news of the day.
I was wrong.
The Colts continued to make roster moves, trading for San Francisco 49ers OLB Cam Johnson and releasing rookie TE Justice Cunningham.no comments
With the Colts' final roster being all but set with the final cuts and claiming of TE Jack Doyle this weekend, I figured that I would pen my varying thoughts on the final group.
It's Labor Day, so this will be succinct and to the point (don't hold me to that though).
The Indianapolis Colts announced earlier today that they had made a waiver claim to former Indianapolis Cathedral High School Tight End Jack Doyle (6-6, 258 pounds), who was cut by the Titans this week.
The team also signed six recently released players to their practice squad (leaving two spots open), including quarterback Chandler Harnish and Linebackers Josh McNary and Daniel Adongo. From the team’s press release:
The Indianapolis Colts today claimed tight end Jack Doyle off waivers (Tennessee), waived running back Kerwynn Williams and signed six players to its practice squad, including, OLB-Daniel Adongo, C-Thomas Austin, QB-Chandler Harnish, TE-Dominique Jones, LB-Josh McNary and CB-Sheldon Price.
