Satele proved useful! Him taking the ball to the face in order to deflect it to Luck? Completely his best effort of the year.
Dear Chuckstrong, these are some things you don't have to do: 1) run the ball; 2) live like a refugee
Speaking of refs, every time I used to hear that stat about Duane Brown not being called for holding in like 5 years, a part of me died a little bit. DFree shoulda had at least 20 more sacks but for uncalled holding against the Texans alone.
Totally agree about the Charles injury. They obviously weren't prepared well for other alternative game plans.
I'm surprised they didn't try to kick a field goal on that 4th down. They must not have looked at Colts history against ridiculous field goal attempts.
Did the Colts simply eschew a spy on Alex Smith the entire game? I didn't recognize any obvious spying in the second half, but then again they weren't running him as much.
Beyond that, and the starting of Toler for unknown reasons, the Colts were simply burnt by some good play-making for the most part. (And bad tackling.)
Oh, if I don't get a chance to rant about it. Andy Reid was dumb for a lot of reasons, but the TO on their last play wasn't a reason. 4th and 11 was the entire game. Lining up then using the last TO to reset based on what the D showed made sense. They just didn't use it well enoiugh.
Colts secondary: http://youtu.be/R0LzAEn3yZ4
The secondary was so bad. They managed to stabilize after half with Toler sitting. Even Bethea who was the least shitty made me sad inside.
I think the key to the game was my official GF discovering that she has a crush on DBrown and renewing hers on Fleener. I texted her a pic of Werner hoping for a sack, but I think these things take time. I dunno; gotta ask my gri-gri consultant.
One thing that jumped out I didn't mention was the Donald Brown having never having lost a fumble stat, cited by the announcing crew, luckily ended up in him fumbling directly into Luck's arms while he was in full superman mode.
Another guy with a horrible game: Greg manusky. The chiefs getting big play after big play was inexcusable. If the we didn't win he would have been the scapegoat.
RJF had that play that he decided to look tough and bust the WR route, and was completly oblivious to the play lettign the wideout to grab a big first down.
Amazing game! Glad we had some replay fortune after some really terrible calls this season. Not sure if Sheppard really had it but definitely no way to tell on that angle.
@GregC That Luck rushing TD was one of the most exciting plays ever. Insane,.Happy dancing here I Seattle. And some rousing cheers, too. Josh Gordy FTW!
@GregCowanCA I'm ready! A rare live listening.
@naptown_ninja There was loads of it as well.
You just made me realize that I know the correct spelling of this name, and that makes me feel ... very confused about how closely. i follow the Colts.
@BDiddy I think Bethea's gone after this season--there were a few plays where he was out of position and it hurt. Maybe ore than that.
@Shake1n1bake Still never lost one, I guess.
@authorbeardDid I get it wrong? It's been 10+ years.
@BDiddyyes they eschewed a spy.
