The offseason comes with its fair share of dull moments. The first week after the Super Bowl brought a few stories for the Colts, but overall it was a tame week. Find out what’s been going on for the men in blue.
Colts Hire Former Browns Head Coach Rob Chudzinski as Special Assistant
The firing of Chudzinski in Cleveland was a very odd one after he had only been there for one season. His coming to Indianapolis makes sense since he and Chuck Pagano has a long history together. The overall consensus on the move seems to be positive. Chudzinski is a good offensive mind that can only help the team. You can find out everything else you need to know from our own Marcus Dugan’s post.
Colts Sign Former Canadian Football League Linebacker Henoc Muamba
If history tells us anything, it’s that Ryan Grigson is capable of finding a diamond in the rough. After having much success from taking a linebacker in the CFL – Jerrell Freeman – Grigson decided to try it again. Muamba was the number one pick in the 2011 CFL draft, and he had a standout year this season. Find out more about this new Colt with Marcus Dugan’s post from earlier this week.
Colts Sign Massive Lineman Jack Breckner
No, really, he’s huge – 6’9”, 320 lbs. Remarkably, the NFL will be Breckner’s fourth football league he has played in. He has previously been with the Ultimate Indoor Football League, Indoor Football League and Arena League. It’s no secret that the Colts’ offensive line needs work, so a move like this can’t hurt at all. Earlier this week, Marcus Dugan told us everything we need to know about the lineman.
Colts on Twitter
On Sunday, Missouri’s defensive end Michael Sam – SEC Defensive Player of the Year – came out as an openly gay man. This has become all the buzz, and a couple of Colts voiced their openings.
I really think the reaction to a gay athlete is generational.. Younger generation (Athletes), don't mind..been around it, more open minded— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 10, 2014
An older generation (Media), make it a much bigger deal because when they were growing up gay folks weren't as open..There may be a few— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 10, 2014
Ignorant athletes that have never met a gay person, and say some regrettable things, but athletes in team sports treat teammates like family— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 10, 2014
And somebody's sexuality will not matter as long as they work hard, prepare, and make plays.. A team is a family, that's how we roll— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 10, 2014
Wishing nothing but the best of luck to this Michael Sam fella. Took a lot of guts to do what he just did before the big job interview— Matt Overton (@MattOverton_LS) February 10, 2014
Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart brought a lot of attention to himself when he shoved a fan for apparently saying something negative towards him. Pat McAfee shared his feelings from the situation (Get used to seeing a lot of McAfee during this pieces. He shares a lot on Twitter).

1 of the things that makes sports so amazing is the feelings that it gives people.. From anger & anxiety all the way to elation.. It's a— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 9, 2014
Roller coaster of emotions that fans within the venue get to openly experience.. We all know as players that fans are what make our sports— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 9, 2014
Tick.. Those feelings are what have kept sports relevant for so long.. BUT, just like in any aspect of life, there is a line.. & sometimes— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 9, 2014
That line gets crossed in the heat of the moment.. I think we should take what happened last night and use it as a learning situation.. A— Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) February 9, 2014
