LMAO! From Twitter:
"RT @AnewTrackrecord Serious question though: Has Pep ever heard of shotgun formation?"
Well... Brown blew the block, but think about it: Colts only scored 3 points in the second half. This loss wasn't on Brown. Indy was already behind by that point. This game was already screwed up before that point; Brown's whiff prevented Luck from overcoming the problems, but I can't help but think that at least one of those FGs being TDs (if not both) would've made that mistake irrelevant.
People will bust on Brown, and for good reason today, but the game turned on more than that. Far more.
How was that not illegal contact on the guy covering Whalen? That replay was pretty clear in showing contact beyond 5 yards
Bfffpphhhh... Luck tried to make too much happen there. Probably should've just thrown it away. A better defense would've made him pay for holding it that long.
Is it just me or has Bradshaw made some questionable decisions on lanes to run (inside v outside) and it didn't look good.
I'm so cynical right now, I'd say that Miami should go for it and let the Colts offensive play calling screw things up. Fullback all the way!!! :-|
You know something? Perhaps Luck wouldn't feel the need to press had the Colts had more points from TDs instead of FGs. Ya think?
@AJ_ His blocking was great today except the last one. They can bust on him but they will look like idiots. Like you said, the problems were far larger than Brown and most of it happened when he wasn't even on the field. At least yelling at guys like McGlynn and Jennings and Pollak made sense because they were on the field most of the time.
@BDiddy I hate 3 rushing calls when you need to move downfield.
I hate field goals when you have a QB with an arm like Luck's.
I hate making a QB like Luck have to press and try too much because the team wasn't playing for the lead when they should have been.
There's lot to hate, but it' just the 2nd game of the season. Hopefully, later games will be far different. Hopefully.
@BDiddy Huh? Brown made multiple great blocks today.
@BDiddy Clearly DB has never learned to block, run, or sit on the bench. We should just cut him
@AJ_ Totes mcgee
@Payton Pass was off because Wheeler was in his face on an inside blitz.
@Payton I thought that too on that run. Wasn't a lane choice but rather leaping over a defender. Not smart.
@Payton Let me clarify: It'll be legit to bust on him for the one blown play. To pretend it's symptomatic would be stupid and ignorant of his improvement; as Nate D has said, it's not 2009 anymore.
It was a bad play on Brown's part, and the thing that sucks is that his great blocks earlier will go unnoticed because of this. And I realize that. But it's still a bad play on his part. Even though too many out there will not bother to understand the legit context at play.
@BDiddy seriously, why do people only pay attention when it supports their opinions?
@Payton Yes, but it affected him. It had to have. Luck's accurate otherwise.
