46 is because 11 starters and 11 backups on both offense and defense and both kicker and the punter.
I'm confident on Hammilton for the way he called the Giants game. He saw the running game was iffy and Luck was hesitant to start the game, so he called a series of short easy passes to move the ball and get Luck going.
and the one big statistically backed exception to Pythag wins in football is QBs who run the 2 minute drill/hurry up very well.
And btw, I wouldn't have a problem to overspend in FA, if we actually fixed the glaring problems of the team. But we still can't protect Luck, run the ball or play good defense. So why overspend?
They outperformed their expected W-L last year by a significant margin, but that expected W-L was 7.2 according to PFR. They aren't starting from square one. Statistically they are a mediocre team that had a great season.
When people knock the Colts for signs of likely statistical regression and overpaying for (they believe) mediocre players, I don't disagree with the unsustainable statistics, but the players they added, even if mediocre are at positions where they are replacing outright turrible players.
Marcell Reece concerns me. He is insanely fast for a FB, and we don't have anybody that could cover that type of player. If the Raiders were smart I would use him early and often. But I really doubt that they are that smart.
Hey greg, can't you see some buckeye magic happening and Pryor going off for 150 yards rushing and 2 tds?
lol 80? It was black flag conditions by noon today and we still had to muster out at the pier this afternoon
@chewie_33 HE CAN DO ALL THINGS
@Shake1n1bake Right. While I even agreed they overpaid, the whole problem is that there was no choice. Too many act like better players are just somehow available and Indy must've missed them, but that's not the way free agency works. The players who are available are the ones who're available, and no one can just magic better players into existence. The actual choice was not between overpaying for mediocre players and paying proper value for great ones, it was between overpaying for mediocre players or going into a new season without any roster improvement.
It wasn't ideal, but it would've been worse to not improve the positions, even at a premium cost. Why people don't understand that, I don't know. It's like some people only care about being half informed and are hostile to knowing any more.
@Shake1n1bake Yes. I want to talk about this.
@chewie_33 I DID
@Shake1n1bake That sounds.... dirty....
@chewie_33 Pryor will be too sore from free tattoos for that.
@chewie_33 much better passer, but there's a reason they put Rev in with the season on the line.
@Shake1n1bake I remember having black flag days back when I was growing up in AZ. They still made us go outside for recess.
@Kyle Rodriguez Like magic!
@Kyle Rodriguez Oh, actually, I'd say Mark Sanchez has one over Luck on that one. Luck doesn't have a 4th quarter disappearing act like him. ;)
