i feel like everyone commenting completely misses the point of this column... its an optimistic outlook on the week regardless of the outcome of the game... the fact that Lou has the long snapper in fourth for the standout performances basically is his ironic way of saying they didn't look good without blatantly saying it.... if he wanted to piss all over the colts then i don't think his article would be labelled good news tuesday...
Number 1 is Havili? Aren't we pretty sure that the Colts offense was better when he was injured and Pep finally had to put Hilton on the field in three WR sets (i.e. the Seattle game)?
LOL! Lou, I know this was a difficult game to find positives but you may have stretched on a few of those! Still love this piece...and the keeping of Reggie loving his football. Speaking of Reggie, did you know he moved into 8th on the all-time receptions list? Good news, I think. :)
And yeah, 4-2 is not so bad. The AFC South will be ours!
You shouldn't have said "go colts, go manning" after this game. Manning is dead to me. Will I always love him? Yes, will I cheer for him if he isn't playing us, yeah. Unless they are playing an NFC team (playoff implications). I love Peyton. Instead of a Blue Out in Indy this week, it should be a black out. A black out for a funeral. The love fest is over with Indiana and Peyton. Colts fans haven't been given a chance to move on and heal the wounds from manning leaving. This will heal hearts and souls of Hoosiers. But This is lucks city now, and that's not changing. So. Go colts, go Luck. Boo Manning and Boo Denver
I don't think it's a good thing Harvey led the team in tackles. It means that our defensive line did shit all to disrupt the running game and he was being targeted by Rivers for numerous completions. I'd be more inclined to agree with you if he had played more than half of the game.
@hankster That's the point - he's been brutal so far, helped the run game very little ... and yet, on Monday, he had a pretty solid game (and a pretty solid catch-and-run).
I'm more than happy to credit improvement :)
@Payton The Colts weren't good at bringing the runner down yesterday, yet Harvey went for 9 solo tackles. After watching players sluggishly perform through the second half yesterday, I was mostly impressed with his hustle.
@Lou Pin @hankster No. My point was that having him on the field and all may be a problem. The Colts had one of their best offensive games against the Seahawks dominant defense. One notable part of that game as that a FB was only on the field 11% of the time. Now with Havili back and playing about 40% of the snaps the Colts look woeful once again.
It could be a coincidence, but I'll take anything that gets Hilton on the field and Luck throwing.
