Am I the only one who thinks that the Chargers might represent a potential letdown game? They're not a GREAT team, but on the other hand they don't suck. And Rivers can still air it out. They're Jeckyll-and-Hyde-ish, and with them playing at home and desperately in need of a win, I worry that Mr. Hyde will show up. Meanwhile, the Colts are facing them on the week in between the two biggest games of the year....
That was incredibly entertaining and well done, Lou. Thanks!
But before you give DDB (Dammit Donald Brown) a full pass, re-watch the blocked punt. He was the backfield protector. Seattle stunted up the middle... we all know the rest. Ugh. Blame the coaches, but keep DDB on a short leash. And run more from passing sets, guys!.
Love this piece! What I learned this week: Cory Redding is a big, angry man and Reggie Wayne loves his football. Seriously though, I did read it. Great job, again!
Bring on San Diego! Philip Rivers will be a challenge for the secondary but the Colts should be able to put up some points.
@mrpenney After watching Indy collapse against San Diego periodically over the last ten years, I get your concern. They seem to play Indy very well regardless.
@mrpenney There's always that potential. Hell, they came out flat at home against a 2nd ranked opponent.... Maybe Bethea gets in everybody's face at F%^$#ing breakfast next Sunday, just to make sure. I think it's a game to fine tune our Pass D since SD's run game is in disarray and Jerkface Rivers (I'm so mature) is having a great year. I'd like to see us get other pass rushers in the sack column playing a more traditional pocket passer who will get his yards (hopefully in garbage time) but who should also give us 2 INTs and 4 sacks. And many, many painful hits on the QB. I want to see his complainey, sarcastic, jerkface face early and often.
Their D, on the other hand, has no appreciable pass rush. Aw Jeez, I just checked FO and see their pass D is 32nd ranked and their Run D is 30th! Overall their D is 32nd. Dead Last. We're only favored by about two (for gambling purposes), but those lines are set to get a roughly even amount of betting on each side so the house makes money. I can't quite understand that--if I were a gambler, I'd put a lot of money on Indy -2. I'd expect a 7 pt win at least. Say 31-24 and it's not that close (maybe 28-10 entering the 4th qtr.). But it's just Tuesday night, things can change.
@Bobman1 He's let them down on blocking twice this year - in huge situations (the first, against Miami) - but his running ability is there. Dunno why they had him on the punting unit to be honest.
I'll be surprised if he's still on it in San Diego.
