The Indianapolis Colts beat the Tennessee Titans 22-14 on Sunday. This win completed the season sweep of the Titans and set the Colts' "magic number" for winning the AFC South at 1.

I've been heavily critical of the coaching the past several weeks, and I'm happy to give them deserved credit and kudos this week. The team came out ready to play. After being outscored 93-12 in the opening half the past four weeks (with a total of 4 scoring drives in that period), the Colts left the first half with a 12-7 lead, and matched the four scoring drives of the previous four weeks combined.
Pep Hamilton demonstrated far more creative play-calling this week, and appeared to have a gameplan designed to work with the strengths of our offense.
Now for the moaners:
1) The offensive line. Seriously? A false start on the second play of the game? Five sacks surrendered? A "blocking" Tight End who failed miserably on a couple huge plays?
2) Clifford Franklin and his merry band of brick-hands.
3) The defense's inability to stop mobile quarterbacks
4) This sequence by the Keystone Kops posing as an officiating crew: a) phantom OPI on DHB, b) missed facemask of TY Hilton on the ensuing play, c) missed facemask of Luck on the ensuing play, d) missed block in the back on the ensuing punt, that was returned for about 35 yards after the unflagged illegal block. Thank the heavens for Robert Mathis and his uncanny strip-sack skills.
For a team in just its second year of total overhauling, being 8-4 and one win away from clinching the division (and at least the 4th seed), and trying to reload on the fly after losing FIVE starters . . . . .the glass is at least half FULL !
I just hope the coaches can take advantage of the next four weeks to integrate Da'Rick Rogers and Josh McNary into the lineups. Many lessons to be learned from this year, and no matter how far they go in this year's playoffs, the future is BRIGHT !
I don't like Pep's offense. But I might be able to learn to live with it if the Colts actually had recivers for Luck to throw to.
This guy was drafted 29th over all. http://fansided.com/2013/12/01/cordarrelle-patterson-celebrates-referee-td-gif/
The Colt's picked 24th. Juss saying...
I know people disparage the titans but I think they are a pretty good team. Especially their dline. It was good to see the Colts keep it close via okay play by both D and O.
I've been on the road for the last couple weeks and might have missed something. Did McGlynn get benched for Linkenbach or is he injured? Not that I miss him much. Just curious. Curious-er still is that Link is best backup guard we have. I always thought he was a better tackle. The o line is in trouble. I think they went power in the 4th because they couldn't keep Luck up right, and they had to do something.
DHB is falling apart. Ill be happy when Rodgers gets up to speed. One target, and he cleanly beats his man, and draws a huge penalty? That's a good start.
Adam V. is beginning to earn my trust...
My thinking has been that since he is on the team, I'm rooting hard for Richardson to perform. But for several weeks, my "lyin' eyes" have told me he is not playing very well. Many of my fellow Colts commentors seem to be afflicted with the same myopic condtion. Yet, excuses have been made for Richardson. Bad play calling, bad blocking, still learning the offense... even Pagano himself publicly joined the Richardson excuse making choir.
Donald Brown is not Jim Brown, but he is better than Richardson. And this has been clearly evident for some time. So what changed before yesterday's game? I'm not buying that the Coaches just "wised" up. I'm rambling on about this because if it was just the "politics" of this situation that kept this move from being made earlier... that does not speak well for the environment that is created. And is this on Irsay or Grigson?
@WyattL I love the optimism, but one has to ask: is it really a good thing to have a glass half full ... when you know that it's only going to get Linked*, Sateled° and/or DHB'd in the first round?
*spun around like a turnstyle
the DHB is self-explanatory
@hankster I screamed and cried when they passed on Hopkins to draft a project pass rusher.
@buymymonkey Somewhat agree. The familiarity of a divisional foe can always be upset-fuel. However, there were times during yesterday's game that we made the Titans look like eventual SB champs.
@buymymonkey Casey is a monster.
@naptown_ninja McGlynn got benched for Link, and I agree that Link is not the the best backup OG we have.
@DougEngland I'm glad Brown is getting his chance too. I think you have to give Pagano SOME credit for giving TRich a chance, though. I mean, eventually the right decision was made. A 1st round pick is a huge investment. Can you blame them for giving him 5 2nd chances? I happen to buy the meme that the coaches wised up. He wasn't suddenly benched: his touches have been dwindling for a month. It might be a mistake to confuse due-diligence with foolish pride.
