The Indianapolis Colts lost to the Rams 38-8 yesterday. With Greg out on assignment, we wanted your take on what we should be moaning about today. After THAT game, we have a feeling you might be able to come up with something...
Feel free to have at it in the comments below!
Editor's Note: Also, here are some tweets from yesterday to inspire you.- KJR
I blame this game on Pep for angering the Football Gods with a fullback draw on third and long.— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 10, 2013
People say to me, "why are you down on the coaching staff when the team is 6-2?" Well, you can't win all the one score games forever.— Nate Dunlevy (@NateDunlevy) November 10, 2013
Beyond that it's because there are still too many weeks when they look utterly unprepared for mediocre teams.— Nate Dunlevy (@NateDunlevy) November 10, 2013
At some point, your wins against high - quality opponents are offset by your losses against backup quarterbacks. #colts— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 10, 2013
One of these days, Ryan Grigson is going to have to answer for how IND spent 1st rd pick for TRich and don't run him at 1st-and-goal from 1.— Collin McCollough (@cmccollo) November 10, 2013
The Colts' 30-point loss was the worst home loss since a 31-0 loss to San Diego in 1993. #blech— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
@MinneapolisColt *Trent Richardson's head first— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
Every time David Reed takes a kick out of the end zone a puppy dies.— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
Zac Stacy ran for 62 yards on 26 carries, Kellen Clemens completed nine passes, and the Colts lost by 30. #ImmaKeepDrinking— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
Kellen Clemens ran for two yards today and outrushed the Colts' halfbacks. #AlcoholPoisoningIsComing— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
Tell me the Colts wouldn't be better off if they eliminated kick returners from their roster— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
@ColtsAuth_Kyle imagine Richardson as one? He'd probably run 3 yards and not know what to do after that— #IfDarylCoughsWeRiot (@joejonasfan_xo) November 11, 2013
When the Colts return a kick this season, the average field position is INSIDE THE 20. THIS IS REAL— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
We joke about it, but the Colts are actually statistically better off to not have a returner. No words...— Kyle J. Rodriguez (@ColtsAuth_Kyle) November 11, 2013
a lot of you asking how I'm able to tweet during the game. I have to be honest with you, we're not told to show up until the second half.— Not Pep Hamilton (@PepHamilton) November 10, 2013
@ColtsAuth_Kyle so when they cut Reed, can they do it at the 20, as a reminder of what he could never reach.— David Hill (@thedavidhill) November 11, 2013
@ColtsAuth_Kyle I'm gonna pretend it was the bye week, just like the team did.— Keith A. Childers (@KC6624) November 10, 2013
Can the next game get her already so I can erase this one from my memory? (And just beat the damn Tacks)
What a STINKER !! Would kind of like to see a few things get shaken up this week, and not more of same old same old !
i.e. - cut Reed. Promote Da'Rick Rogers. Try Boom Herron as kick returner. Get Khaled Holmes on the field (and Satele off it).
I can't really remember being more depressed after a game. Probably the 06 Jags game, the Saints game in 2011 was bad but we had no expectations anyway. I get it that the coaching staff is young and so is the team, but you have Greg Manusky who has been in the NFL for awhile, same with Pagano. They should know how to prepare for games. And not to get giant egos and ignore a team just because of their record. We should've done to them what we did to Jacksonville and stomped them and stayed agressive. Instead the offense was the worst we have seen it in the Luck era.
And the D while made some big stops, and who knows what would've happened if they were off the field for more than 5 minutes, but how can you get torched by Austin like that? Especially after the first time? He's one of their best receivers and that isn't even saying a lot. Until this point he's been horrible. And seriously, he stole TY's dance and did a TA after he scored a TD. The punt was lazy coverage, his long TD's were lazy coverage and they should've had a deep safety after we got burned the first time. But no.
And seriously? A FB draw on 3rd and 10? It's sad that Havili was one of our biggest offensive weapons that game. I haven't been in the fire Pep camp but I don't even know if we could. How would Luck react to that? We fired his coach that he wanted and was the reason the guy got the job? I don't think he'd be happy, but hopefully he'd understand. Not saying we should fire him, but just thinking of the consequences afterwards
Mama said there'd be days like this.. so I'm not going to overreact to one game.
I would like to say thought that I've seen DBs get toasted. It happens. But I've never seen a DB get toasted like Vontae Davis did yesterday in that it was like some strange combination of lack of effort and that he completely forgot what he was suppose to be doing.
"There goes that Austin guy. Is he even an eligible receiver? Wait, am I suppose to be covering him. Am I even on a football field or just dreaming this."
I'm just gonna pretend that the coaching staff and Andrew needed a game like this. I can't imagine that Irsay hasn't completely gone apeshit on Twitter...although, maybe like me, he is just sober enough this morning.
If David Reed were gay, we'd know it right away because he would come out over and over and over again, even when not appropriate.
(not that there's anything wrong with that)
If I was coach I'd tape steaks to T-Rich and unleash some very large cats. If he can't run angry isn't it about time he runs scared?
@ZackRakes Instead, maybe feed the steaks to the interior lineman, and beef them up so they can hold a block at least until after Richardson takes the handoff.
@ZackRakes PHOTOSHOP TIME
@chip_bennett @ZackRakes It's like that scene from Bull Durham where Crash, as catcher, tells the batter what's coming to teach the pitcher a lesson. I get the feeling the OL has been grievously insulted by Richardson (hell, ALL the RBs) and they're whispering to the DL what the play is, the snap count, and how best to blow it up. Then at the snap, they stand up, turn around, and watch the carnage. Maybe it has something to do with a rumored Richardson sex tape....
