The Colts will face the Bengals in their final 2013 preseason game tonight at 7pm ET.
While the third game is the most "usable" from an analysis standpoint, the fourth game offers one last look at players fighting for a roster spot (or a practice squad spot).
No, it's not a game to evaluate starters. We honestly don't even know which starters will be playing, and those who do likely won't play more than a series or two.
But for fringe players, this is their last chance to make a lasting impression. While some cases have already been made (see Rayford, Caesar), other players in that 48-60 range have yet to separate themselves from the pack, in either a good or bad way.
So who are we (and the coaches) watching this week? Coincidentally, the three biggest battles all come on defense.no comments
In this week's video breakdown, I take a look at Hugh Thornton's debut at right guard.
The video is a touch on the long side, and improved intros/camera quality are coming, but I do show my face in this one and break down a few different plays.
Overall it was an impressive debut from Thornton, there was one play in which Thornton got beat by a swim move that didn't make it into the final video, but outside of that play and the final thing I touch on in the video, there was little to complain about from Thornton's performance on Saturday night.
Adongo is Eager to Help Build the Monster
Former rugby player Daniel Adongo generated a good deal of excitement when he joined the team as a linebacker in July, but he has missed significant time with a bicep injury since then. Though he has yet to play in a preseason game, Adongo showed enough potential to survive the first round of cuts.
It looks as though fans will have to continue to be patient in waiting for Adongo’s debut, according to Coach Chuck Pagano. “He wants to go in the worst way but until he has a full understanding of everything that’s going on,” he said of Adongo. “I’m not worried about him giving effort. I’m not worried about him knowing what to do.no comments no comments
