Colts Authority Week 5 Picks

Good afternoon, Colts Fans.  I hope your weekend has been great so far.  This week, we are doing NFL picks on Coltsauthority.com.  Everyone on the staff who was able sent me their Week 5 winners with full bragging rights at stake.  And, if you feel like getting into the mix as well, feel free to add your Week 5 picks into the comments.

The Colts Authority staff all agrees that the Texans, 49ers, Bears, Giants, and Ravens look like winners this week.  Several of us also expect Green Bay to be the smart choice, but that didn’t stop Lou, Josh, and me from going out on a limb to pick the Colts.  This may have been a mistake for the three of us, since Indy will apparently be using Josh Gordy, Darius Butler, and a can of Cheez Whiz in their dime packages against the pass-wacky Green Bay offense led by some guy named Aaron.  All silliness aside, it's the NFL, and everybody has a chance.

So, kick off your weekend with some football prognostication.  It’ll be fun.

@gizzardfanny is 8-4 and looking at 9-4 if SD closes out the Saints.

@TammyDugan is 7-4, going on 8-4 (SD), since she didn't pick the Thursday game.

@Robson2013 is a respectable 6-6 so far and probably hoping for a New Orleans comeback.

Thanks, guys.  Hopefully, we'll get more reader participation next week.  The staff has fared similarly so far, with Lou Pin and Greg Cowan looking to take a big lead if San Diego wins.

@Robson2013 This is a tough week to project, lots of home underdogs.

@Colt_Following  @Robson2013 Good point.  I usually like picking home teams, but so many of the home teams are big underdogs this week.

@MarcusDugan  @Robson2013 Were I a betting man *Ahem* I would say to fear the home underdog, but since we aren't picking against the spread it probably doesn't matter as much.  Lots of home dogs will cover tomorrow, though whether or not they win is a different question entirely.  Still, home dogs have been performing well this year.
