The Colts Authority Week 12 NFL Picks

Good morning, Colts fans. I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. I, personally, had the pie of my life (I couldn’t help it, I love that little joke). Every week, NFL prognosticators, pundits, and the talking heads on pre-game shows make their game predictions. This year, we here at the Colts Authority have enjoyed posting our own NFL picks as well.
Last week, several of our writers did extremely well, including some who were unable to participate this week, with a couple people going 13-1 and no one guessing more than three games wrong. This week, due to the holiday, we don’t have as many participants, but we nevertheless picked our winners for some interesting Week 12 matchups.
If any of you would like to show off your own game prediction skills, please feel free to do so in the comments, on our Facebook page, or you can email them to This email address is being protected from spambots. And, of course a quick-take breakdown of this week's games:
Houston @ Detroit |
Hard-fought, if not controversial, overtime win for the Texans |
Washington @ Dallas |
A nice, efficient game from RGIII looked like a blowout before Romo and the Cowboys came to life late in the game. Washington held on for the win, 38-31 |
New England @ NY Jets |
The Patriots will win their division, whereas the Jets are chasing Indy for a wild card spot. New England’s win, as much as it pains me to say, may have helped the Colts. |
Buffalo @ Indianapolis |
I won’t lie; this game makes me a little nervous. Nevertheless, a win tomorrow against the Bills would be a huge confidence boost here in the home stretch. |
Pittsburgh @ Cleveland |
The unlucky Browns will face the Steelers, featuring a blast from the past with Plaxico Burress catching balls from 85-year-old quarterback Charlie Batch. |
Oakland @ Cincinnati |
The Raiders and Bengals were each on opposite ends of blowouts last week, with Cincy beating the Chiefs, and Oakland losing to the Saints. I’m leaning toward the home team. |
Minnesota @ Chicago |
Jay Cutler may not be able to play tomorrow, and the Vikings have a chance to pull even with the Bears. Chicago has lost two in a row. |
Tennessee @ Jacksonville |
This game looked easy to predict, but with Chad Henne making big plays for the Jaguars, it’s a little more up in the air now. I still went with Tennessee, though. |
Atlanta @ Tampa Bay |
If this game comes down to running and stopping the run, my money is on the Bucs. I don’t think it will, though, so I picked Atlanta. If I’m wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time. |
Seattle @ Miami |
A battle of rookie quarterbacks and strong defenses. Seattle has the 32nd ranked passing offense, but Miami is in total free-fall mode. It’s hard not to pick the Seahawks. |
Denver @ Kansas City |
Peyton Manning. That is all. |
Baltimore @ San Diego |
Baltimore has struggled on the road. So how ‘bout a road game in warm, beautiful San Diego? Get ready for Rivers to get that incredulous look on his face again. |
San Francisco @ New Orleans |
Kaepernick might get the start for SF. Quick note: the longer a backup quarterback plays, the more he looks like a backup. See: John Skelton, Curtis Painter, Paul Justin (goin’ way back) |
St. Louis @ Arizona |
Rookie Ryan Lindley will start for the Cards against the Rams tomorrow. Who, you ask, is Lindley? We don’t know, but they clearly aren’t very happy with John Skelton. |
Green Bay @ NY Giants |
The Giants, who tend to forget how to win in November, will be looking to end both their 2 game skid, and the red-hot Packers’ 5 game win streak. |
Carolina @ Philadelphia |
I don’t know the flex scheduling rules, but…Oh, well. Despite the records, this could be an exciting game between two teams full of guys playing for their jobs. |
There you have it. Good luck to any of you who choose to add your predictions. Have a great weekend, and Go Colts!
