hell yeah! I still love that big red head. GO POLIAN! do you honestly think Bill couldn't have done as good of a job with those picks?
I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna listen to the show again just to point out the Kermit impression.
I wanted to call in and somewhat defend Arians. Considering who he had on the Oline, and the drops, he called a pretty good game. Yes, too conservative at the end, but I can understand that.
And after all, it worked.
Has anyone else noticed that, so far, pretty much all of our drafts picks from 2012 have been awesome? Luck (1) is obviously amazing, (2) Fleener has done well so far, (3) Allen has been even better, (4) Hilton killed it today except for that dropped TD and has two games over 100 yards, (5) Chapman just got off the PUP, so he hasn't done anything, (5) Ballard is obviously contributing VERY well, and even (6) Brazill is contributing, then our 7th round picks have contributed pretty much nothing or been cut, but that's not uncommon. This may be the best Colts draft ever.
@TheGreatMisdirect Yeah, Grigson seems to have done well. Obviously it will take a few years to truly judge the class, but you can't really ask for more to this point. The pick I had the most issue with at the time was Ballard, but that has clearly turned out well.
@TheGreatMisdirect i mentioned this at the top with Rohan, a home run of a draft, but you're forgetting FUGGER, who is already cut.
@GregC Ah, I wasn't there in the beginning. And yeah, Fugger and Harnish have both been cut.
BTW what was that reggie bush td? He manage to cut THREE colts defenders in the same move.
Greg an important question: CAN WE BEAT THE PATRIOTS IN TWO WEEKS????
If we do I really don't care if we win another game...
@zgs1288 @BDiddy @chewie_33 That's what I'm saying. We only have one game to worry about right now. Those little kitties.
@BDiddy @smonroe @chewie_33 true. they'll drop 40 points on the D, but Luck will score on that defense. Colts will also have a long week to prepare and get healthy, so maybe they'll keep it respectable. gotta take care of the Jags first.
On the defensive sided, we used a lot more 4-3 packages, and I think that really boosted the defense.
I have to remember that we left at least 9 points on the field. Hilton dropping the TD pass, Vinatieri missing two field goals.
@TheGreatMisdirect the hilton drop really hurt. but Luck's deep ball was WAY more accurate today which was a really good sign.
@zgs1288 Not like it felt we pass protected WELL per se, but it did feel like he had more time. That doesn't make sense, but yeah, I definitely agree.
@zgs1288 Yeah, I agree. Great day in pass protection, minus that Wake sack+fumble, but Luck should've thrown the ball before he got hit.
@TheGreatMisdirect based on my very scientific eye test, i thought this was the O-line's best performance in pass protection on the year. they for once seemed average. and average will really let Luck shine.
@zgs1288 @TheGreatMisdirect He was. Way too many drops. But some great catches too.
Considering what we have on our O Line, and that most of our receivers have no experience, this offense is amazing.
Brown's big asset is his explosiviness, however his vision is stinky. If you give him 25 touches a game he will break a 20 yard gain eventually but he will have at least half of those runs for 2 or less yards.
@chewie_33 really? I thought he's been good from a vision standpoint this year.
We've gone some rose tinted shades on here. Donald's gotten better. He used to run straight into his guards ass. All the time. Now, a lot of that is the O-Line, but he isn't blind.
@TheGreatMisdirect pretty crazy. the highs and lows will drive you crazy -- if he can be more consistent he can really be valuable.
@zgs1288 I think all of the receivers have to work more with the jugs machine, that's for sure.
But you should not give donnald brown 25 touches a game, he's ok, but he's not a 25 touches a game runner.
@chewie_33 If he ran around 20 times, then had 5 catches or so, I'm fine with that. Touches can be both passing and rushing.
@TheGreatMisdirect I know, but I think Brown's main trait is the threat to hit a home run. But I see too many runs fallin short that are his fault and I think he would be more effective in a comitee.
@chewie_33 When he gets tackled behind the line, I wouldn't blame that on him this year. O-line sucks, but he's been much better at getting positive yardage this year than in previous years. Not sure what you're looking at, as I've watched most of the game this year at least once.
