Colts Waive LB, Sign WR
Written by Laura Calaway.
| The Colts announced on Tuesday that they have waived LB Kevin Eagan - who decided to leave the team - and signed free agent WR Kris Adams (Bears, Rams, Vikings). I know this is a fringe transaction, and will likely be meaningless within weeks. But with 10 other wide receivers already on the team, and an ongoing dearth of talent at safety and corner, this move is a head-scratcher for me. |
Exciting news for me, being from El Paso and watching Adams play. Do the Colts still have Trevor Vittatoe? They played together, crazy they picked them both up.
Can someone tell me what "leave the team" means? I hope he retired. That'd be weird.
Nobody knows for sure, but it coud be that he decided he just didn't have it in him any more, or he was scared by all the concussion talk, or he realized he would always be a fringe player. Either way, I will cry foul if he gets claimed off waivers (which I don't believe will happen - I have to believe that is frowned upon).
@LovinBlue @thejoshbaker I believe Noel Devine did this last year and got signed again but I can not remember exactly. But the way that I have seen it reported it did not sound like a casual left the team, more like it was something unexpected on his part. I wonder if he got frustrated with not being able to dominate this level of competition, either way I guess we move on.
