Just finished listening to the download. Greg absolutely killed it in his early rant about trading the pick. Lots of good draft stuff. Aftershow was a classic -- that should be the format every week. Not sure who said it, but when the Caldwell era is tallied in a future version of Blue Blood, "Can we kick a field goal on defense?" should be a strong contender for a section heading.
Hey Greg - thanks for showing your frustration about them not trading the pick! Was a relief to hear and I agree completely.
Again, same sitch in 97: people didn't think manning could live up to the hype. Can we agree that if Luck's Colts get 3 wins or more, it was a successful rookie campaign?
I bet our defense (strange as it sounds) will be good this year. So Luck wont have to win games for us like Manning always had to do.
@BlueRidgeColt You see that in other hybrid 3-4 defenses but this is unusual. Had they kept Manning and traded the pick I could see a dramatically improved defense. Those extra picks would have fixed the secondary and beefed up special teams. The defense wouldn't be defending a short field constantly.
I'm a Colts fan first, but will be rooting for whatever team Peyton lands with whenever they aren't playing the Colts.
100% true in my mind. I think they both came to that decision, but Peyton was willing to make more concessions than Irsay.
It depresses me so much that they talked over and over about how, if Peyton was healthy, he would 100% be back.
And now he's not.
@thejoshbaker After the sadness fades what will remain is that, at least in this regard, Jim Irsay lied to the fans. That was a lie.
Back in high school Luck was on a camping trip and mauled a bear that approached his tent. He know wears that very bears hide on his neck.
If I lived in Pittsburgh I think I'd want Ben to be a bit gimpy. Would want women to be able to outrun him.
@thejoshbaker Cannot resist the urge to retweet. Couldn't fight it.
It's almost a choreographed, fluid hunt-n-peck. He looks as if he was taught to type by Mr. Burns from the Simpsons.
Wow. I cannot imagine how you feel about this, Josh. I´m glad there was a ColtsAuthority regular there, somehow. Knowing this makes me feel like we were there with you.
Oh, they built it. Manning came. Unfortunately the cornfield didn't tell us how to make sure he stayed.
Now I know what that light buzzing in the room was. Josh's lip quivering..
My hatred for Kravitz is becoming real. On the other hand, thanks for giving us your perspective on this, Josh.
