Thanks for listening everybody. And thanks to Greg for having me on. My apologies to Laura for having to put up with me as a co-host.
I had fun.
NFL.com had a official review segment where the VP of officiating admitted they were wrong
@RobertItoh I do like that official review segment, I think it gives the NFL credibility that they will draw attention to mistakes, even major ones (like the Dez Bryant hit that likely cost the Bengals a game).
1. Luck is so exciting to watch! anyone saying otherwise hasn't watched him play
2. RG3 has high stats because he passes it one yard and lets everyone else do the rest
@mshah9008 You may be right, but the awards generally are picked from a stat line and RGIII has a great one.
@mshah9008 I suppose it will depend on how they weight wins, Luck should have more.
The way I've been saying it is that BA has great intangibles to be an amazing HC.... he just doesn't have the tangibles
Another thing is that a lot of times (especially this season) they haven't been in situations where they need to pass (they're playing to keep the lead/run clock)
I hope to god the Colts defense does the right thing tomorrow and just sell out on the run. How many times have we seen the Colts give up massive yards to the Jaguars and other predominantly running teams? Just dont let foster and that running game beat you
well I think they work (at the end of the games) when they run it behind the TEs (and Costanzo)... just not when they run it behind the OL
I like that Arians is using Fleener on more deeper routes down the field though. Yeah they didn't connect last week, but we are seeing a few more routes that Clark usually ran
well but when Saunders is out there the Colts are in a 3 TE 2 RB and 10 OL setup anyways (and they still can't block!), so not much more they can do to hide what they're doing
I find it odd, considering how effective the screen was when Manning ran them. Sure teams figured it out in the latter half of the '10 season, but by that time, the Colts offense was just depleted and had no other means of generating a running but to run screens
which to follow up isn't all that odd when you think about it. The change in philosophy along the offensive line has probably affected this since they are now going with more weight and strength up front as opposed to quick footed, athletic linemen
do we know if they're keeping the TEs in to block more? or is the ball just not going to them?
Also don't understand why they keep calling bubble screens with Avery? (noticed it a lot last week)
*THAT* bitchy Houston Texans fan/writer/moron is back, laying into people that rate Luck again!http://houston.culturemap.com/newsdetail/12-13-12-andrew-luck-is-actually-human-damning-character-fault-revealed-but-it-wont-help-human-sacrifice-texans/
I went on a long rant on Greg's hitchhiker's guide post, but BA absolutely has to realize the importance of the short passing/RB screens (even if he doesn't like them) for the offense to be successful
