A few months ago, I wrote about 18to88 reader Dustin McNicohls and his quest to raise money for cancer research. Dustin's 'Team Grimmace' will start their walk tomorrow. Here's an update from Dustin:
It's that time again Grimace Supporters - for your Team Grimace update!
The iPad 2 raffle concluded just after the holiday weekend and it was an astounding success with hundreds of dollars donated to support Susan G. Komen and Team Grimace! Our winner was Rick Turner, Senior Project Engineer at Joliet Pattern, Inc - a large format printer in Joliet, Illinois. A big congratulations and thank you to Rick for his individual donations to the walk as well as his raffle ticket purchases!
I would like to extend a huge thank you to so many of you who were able to purchase tickets and have made donations thus far in support of Team Grimace and to make this time spent fundraising all the more exciting - and to my fiancee Kate, for if it weren't for her generosity, the iPad raffle would not have been possible.
This summer has flown by and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk actually begins tomorrow morning! My wonderful Kate will be driving me to Chicago at the always wonderful hour of 4 am. The walk kicks off at 6 am and over the next three days, I will be walking 60 miles in support of my grandmother, who is doing better after her mastectomy which took place earlier this summer.
It's not too late to support Team Grimace or Susan G. Komen & The 3-Day with a donation to kick off everyone's 60 mile journey - I wouldn't be able to participate if it wasn't for the support of Nate and all the many others who have helped me along the way.
Stay tuned Grimace Supporters!
